The Environmental Education Program is responsible for the development of educational programs and materials. The main purpose of the program is to disseminate environmental education resources and educate them on how to apply these resources. Our university’s Department of Special Education plays a leading role in equal opportunities and individual development in education. It aims to maximize the potential of individuals with special needs by offering students educational opportunities tailored to their individual needs. It offers two important programs at the master’s and doctoral levels in the field of special education. Our programs:
Special Education Master’s Program: It is a comprehensive master’s program for students who want to specialize in the field of special education. The program provides students with both theoretical and practical skills, enabling them to work effectively with individuals with special needs.
Special Education Doctoral Program: It is for students who want to conduct research in special education and contribute to the development of the field. The program offers students the opportunity to develop research skills, leadership competencies and teaching skills.
Academic staff:
There are two departments within the Department of Special Education: the Department of Education for the Mentally Disabled and the Department of Education for the Gifted. Our department has an experienced academic staff specialized in special education. Our staff consists of three professors, four associate professors, one doctoral faculty member, one lecturer and four research assistants, who guide students in their education and research processes. These experienced academics offer students in-depth knowledge and guidance across a wide range of areas of expertise.
As the Department of Special Education, we emphasize the importance of equality and justice in education and aim to create an environment that supports the participation of individuals with special needs in society. Our department consists of 6 professors and 1 associate professor. Our program consists of courses such as Turkish language, applied linguistics, language teaching methods and material preparation. Welcome to the Dokuz Eylül University Institute of Educational Sciences Foreign Languages Education Graduate program. Our department consists of English Language Teaching and French Teaching Sciences.
The Department of English Language Teaching first started education in 1989 under the umbrella of the Institute of Social Sciences, and has been offering Master’s and Doctorate degrees under the umbrella of the Institute of Educational Sciences since 1995. Our teaching staff includes 4 professors, 2 associate professors, 2 doctoral lecturers and 2 research assistants.
Department of French Teaching started education for the first time in the 1990-1991 academic year. There are 1 professor, 1 associate professor, 1 doctoral faculty member, and 1 research assistant.
The master’s program requires taking at least seven courses with a total of not less than 21 local credits, the student workload for one semester from compulsory and elective courses is 30 ECTS, and the total workload required to complete the master’s program with thesis is 120 ECTS.
The PhD program consists of at least seven courses, not less than 21 local credits, taken from the course groups specified in the teaching plans, seminar, qualifying exam, thesis proposal, area of expertise and thesis study. The student workload for one semester is 30 ECTS. The total workload required to complete the program is 240 ECTS.
